What We Do

Social Enterprise

Supporting Social Enterprise

Social Enterprises are businesses and services set up for the good of the community rather than profit. Often they are community groups with the capacity to earn an income, a café that hires people with convictions, disabilities or other obstacles to employment or a Community Garden that provides climate action solutions that don’t cost a fortune.

We provide a dedicated team member who helps you to navigate set up, grow your social enterprise, meet other social entrepreneurs and find other support.

How do we support social enterprises?

Our Social Enterprise Officer is on hand to support any social enterprise based in Dublin 10 or Chapelizod. It doesn’t matter if you are decades old or still in the idea stage, we can help.

We provide advice, guidance, training and mentoring in the following topic areas:

  • Getting set up
  • Defining your social impact
  • Establishing, sustaining or growing a social enterprise
  • Business mentoring and development
  • Advice and guidance on good governance, charities regulations and compliance
  • Advice and assistance on sourcing and applying for funding
  • Marketing
  • Linking into other community stakeholders

We also host the D10 Social Enterprise Network. The network is a group of social enterprises from Ballyfermot and Chapelizod who are all facing similar issues. This group gets a bi-weekly email highlighting new sources of funding, support, events and more.
