What We Do
Cherry Orchard Community Garden is what it looks like to place social inclusion at the heart of climate action. We are a working urban garden that reduces barriers to getting involved in climate action for our community.
The Community Garden is managed by the Liffey Partnership. It has grown from a 2-acre plot of neglected land to a thriving social enterprise producing over 2 tonnes of organic fruits and vegetables each year.
The Community Garden provides access to quality green space and many health, social and environmental benefits. We also offer employment opportunities, access to nature and horticulture education.
The Garden employs local people on Tús work placement programmes.
The Community Garden boasts a range of agricultural amenities where schools and groups come to participate in nature based education and activities. Facilities include:

She thoroughly enjoyed herself and was delighted to have the opportunity to participate in a physical activity out of doors alongside other members of the community. After years of being unable to partake in activities such as this due to ill-health, lack of accessibility, etc., something as simple as being able to plant and tend to a few seeds, bulbs and plants means the world to her

The Garden is an oasis of calm and beauty near our office in Parkwest. Our volunteers had a wonderful day preserving and staining outdoor furniture and wheelchair accessible raised beds… Everyone really enjoyed the day and are looking forward to volunteering again with this wonderful social enterprise and hoping for a few more delicious tomatoes, lettuce, spinach and potatoes!
A super resource for Cherry Orchard. They are great for working with St Ultans primary school children. Every year they bring different classes to the community centre and teach the children about planting and allow the children to plant and watch their plants grow. Peader is super helpful when worked with the children and it’s always so enjoying to visit the centre.
