The saying “It takes a village” means that we all need to work together, not just to raise children, but also to build strong and welcoming communities. At Liffey Partnership, we try to bring people together to make life better and solve problems for everyone in Cherry Orchard, Ballyfermot, and Chapelizod.

What are the aims of the Community Development Team?

  1. To bring people and groups in thet area together by working as a team and helping each oher.
  2. To work with local community groups in Ballyfermot, Chapelizod, and Cherry Orchard to find out what people need and come up with good solutions together.
  3. To help people who feel left out by linking them to services and creating support that fits their needs.
  4. To build pride in the area and make sure everyone feels welcome and included.

Who do we support?

Community groups bring people together to work on things that matter to them and their area. We’re here to support your group with helpful advice and hands-on support, like:

  • Sharing and promoting events
  • Helping you find and apply for funding
  • Offering training in areas your group needs
  • Planning for the future in a way that lasts
  • Helping you set up your group and follow the rules
  • Making sure your group’s voice is heard in local and national decisions

We have a team based in Cherry Orchard that works closely with local people to help them grow personally, professionally, and as part of the community.

We focus on:

  • Helping people become local leaders
  • Giving out community grants
  • Planning and celebrating local events
  • Supporting and celebrating women
  • Taking care of the environment with clean-up days, the Pink Planters, and the Community Garden.
