What We Do

Community Development

Community Development

“It takes a village” is not only applicable to raising children. It also applies to building a strong and inclusive community.

Liffey Partnership brings people and groups together to create bright futures, solve problems, and improve the lives of everyone in Ballyfermot and Chapelizod. We believe in equality, fairness and respect and work with you to remove barriers that stand in the way of community improvement.

What are the aims of the Community Development Team?

  1. Support and develop community groups across Ballyfermot, Chapelizod and Cherry Orchard and help identify solutions together
  2. Work with older people and existing services to develop supports that address your needs
  3. Further develop pride and belonging in the communities of Cherry Orchard and Ballyfermot. Support a welcoming and inclusive community
  4. Work to ensure that those who need additional support receive them
  5. Engage and enhance local networks through collaboration and support.

Who do we support?

Community groups help people to come together over things you feel passionate about. We help local community groups with tailored supports including:

  • Setting your group up and the governance involved
  • Finding and accessing grants and funds
  • Getting the word out there about your group
  • Planning for the future
  • Making your voice heard in local, regional and national decisions
