Children & Teens

Parenting children and teenagers can be joyful and sometimes challenging. We support you to help your children & teens to reach their full potential at every stage of their development.

Connecting with Your Child or Teen – Parents Plus Parenting Courses

Our Parents Plus courses help you stay tuned into your child. We work together to set healthy routines, to learn and be independent and to manage emotions as they grow up. Our courses run throughout the year both mornings and evenings.

Together, we will cover things like:

  • Tuning into your child
  • Self-care for parents
  • Supporting parents around behaviour and routines
  • Managing screens & technology at home
  • Creating healthy family habits, food routines & mealtimes, active play & physical activity
  • Supporting positive family relationships
  • Ensuring restful sleep routines
  • Supporting your child’s self-esteem, confidence, independence, emotional well-being and problem solving

There are three different Parents Plus courses depending on the age of your child:

Understanding what your child or teen actually wants can be hard but imagine you were able to make sense of what your child was really asking.

We support you to build secure relationships with your children and build their self-esteem. Through the 8-week Circle of Security Parenting™ programme, we help you to build warm, positive attachments with your children.

Benefits

  • Understand your child/teen’s behaviour
  • Respond to your child/teen’s cues.
  • Create a secure base that helps them explore the world safely
  • Understand your own needs when parenting

Supporting your teen in managing the changes, new emotions, new schools and preparing for their next chapter in life is all part of this parenting journey.

The Understanding Your Teenager workshop is for parents of pre-teens and teenagers (10-17 years). Our workshops help you strengthen your relationship when it is needed most. We work on understanding your teenager’s experience and how you can be the best support to them.

In this session, you will:

  • Learn about the teen brain
  • Learn ways you can use this knowledge to support your teenager and your relationship with them
  • Think about ways of caring for yourself when parenting a teenager
