Finding a job that matters to you is a challenge and an opportunity. We work with you to find a direction that you want to go. Your direction might be work, self-employment or further education – that is up to you!
If you have been referred to us by social welfare, you are in safe hands. Our Guidance team is warm, friendly and local. We will give you the space to make choices that affect your life in a positive way.
What do you get from the Local Area Employment Services?
Our Employment Guidance Officers help you figure out what steps you need to take to find the right job. We will talk it out with you, set goals, find courses, provide training and help your job search.
At a minimum, we promise to develop a plan with you that supports you going forward. You will understand your strengths and skills and grow in confidence.
Our LAES Programme supports with:
- Self-evaluation – What are you doing well and what would help you to progress
- Personal Plan – Make decisions on what you want out of life and your career
- Interview skills – Learn what to expect and coaching on how to respond
- CV hard and soft copies – Work with a professional to make your CV stronger
- Cover letter writing – Understand out what your cover letter should say
- Job search tips – See where the roles you want are advertised
- Workshops – Attend trainings and workshops including manual handling, HACCP, IT, safe pass & more
- Training – Get support applying for further education and training
