SUMMARY:Steps for Success
DESCRIPTION:The STEPS Programme\, was created by the Pacific Institute in response to the demand for practical educational material\, to assist an ever-    increasing number of people who are trying to change their situation\, personally\, professionally or organisationally.  It is based on up-to-date psychological cognitive concepts and presented in a down-to-earth form\, which is easy to understand\, and simple to apply. \nSTEPS – What it Does. \n\nIt teaches individuals to think differently about themselves\, their families\, their world and what they\, themselves\, can and cannot do.\nIt is designed to build real strength and to help people accomplish greater tasks and to tackle and solve critical problems.\nIt enables people to become independent\, self-directed and fully accountable.\nIt shows that the greatest barriers to success comes from inside ourselves and that by working through a series of concepts and techniques\, individuals discover that they have greater power to take charge of their future.\nIt energises individuals and teams to work constructively towards the vision.\n\nSTEPS – Key Concepts \nUnderlying the process of improved performance are several fundamental principles\, including: \n\nBeliefs and Performance\nHow Beliefs are Established\nLocus of Control\nSelf-Image and Comfort Zones\nMotivation\nVision and Current Reality\nNew Beliefs and New Performance – using Affirmations and Goal –Setting.\nSelf-Efficacy (our ability to cause things to happen).

SUMMARY:Endometriosis: Chronic Period Pain\, Fertility and Navigating the System
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Familibase on October 15th for an evening of understanding the experiences and supports for women and girls with Endometriosis. \n100s of women and girls in Ballyfermot suffer with extreme period pain\, fertility concerns and finding support in our Healthcare system. Many aren’t heard or given inaccurate advice which can fail to validate their experience. Endometriosis is a chronic inflammatory disease estimated to affect 10% (190 million) girls\, women and individuals worldwide. It occurs where tissue similar to the lining of the womb (uterus) is found elsewhere in the body and can manifest in many different ways\, making it difficult to diagnose and treat. The difficulties in diagnosing often leaves patients to continue suffering without treatment or be misdiagnosed. Pain can be extreme and the fear of infertility can weigh heavily on patients. \nThis event\, Endometriosis: Chronic Period Pain\, Fertility and Navigating the System\, explains what Endometriosis is and how you can find help. We will learn of the experience of Endo patients in the award-winning documentary ‘Below the Belt’ before we listen to a panel discussion with patients and specialists in the Irish system. \nEvent details: \n\nVenue: Familibase\, Blackditch Road\, Ballyfermot\nTime: 6pm-8pm\nDate: October 15th\nUnderstand Endometriosis from sufferers and specialists\nHear from our expert panel about how to access care\n\n**The topic of Endometriosis might trigger difficult emotions for some attendees so we ask everyone to approach from a place of compassion.
